Coding.Waterkant - get your ticket now!

From 6–10 July, we’ll code, connect, and create together at the MFG5 Waterkant Area. Over several days, participants dive into projects, exchange ideas, and collaborate in an open and inspiring environment — with intensive coding at the center.

Bring your own project, find teammates on site, or join someone else’s project. Work together throughout Coding.Waterkant and present your results on the final day.

We’re excited to welcome inspiring keynotes from:

  • Anita Schüttler, Co-Chair of the Federal Association Green Software and Head of IT Sustainability @neuland
  • Sven Großmann, Grafana Labs // about Hacking Google and Watching Agents: The new realities of AI Security & Observability

And the first workshops are already live:

AI Security & Observability — by Sven Großmann // Grafana Labs
This talk covers the essential practices for maintaining secure and reliable AI systems by connecting vulnerability research with cutting-edge production telemetry. We will first dive into lessons learned from elite live hacking events targeting Google's infrastructure to highlight critical security vectors. To conclude, we will demonstrate how to leverage Grafana’s new AI Observability solution to monitor, evaluate, troubleshoot and guard complex agentic applications.

1-click Inference Environments with Terraform — by Daniel Banck //  Terraform Core Team // IBM/HashiCorp
Spinning up a GPU-backed inference stack shouldn't mean hours of clicking through cloud consoles or maintaining brittle bash scripts. In this workshop, you'll learn how to use Terraform to provision reproducible inference environments. Auto-shutdown and on-demand recreation become trivial when your environment is a `terraform apply` away, which means GPUs only run when you actually need them.

Agentic Payment — by Niels Launert // Blockchain Software Engineer

And because green coding matters: Envit Consulting joins us to explore how your code can become even more resource-efficient and create lasting impact.

Much more too come!

Build Fridays #2

Got something you’ve been meaning to build but never made time for?

Together with AI BEAVERS, Daniel Banck and Gerret Halberstadt, we're hosting Build Friday #2 in Kiel on Friday, June 5th, from 5 to 11 PM.

If you're currently working on a side project, startup, or an idea you've been meaning to build, bring your laptop and join us. No talks, no fixed agenda. At 7 PM everyone gives a short intro, after that everyone works on their projects and conversations happen naturally. It doesn’t matter whether you come from a tech background or not. What matters is that you’re building something.

We are looking forward to see you building! 🚀

Have you ever wondered why cafés, subway cars, and parks feel somehow emptier – even though more people than ever are there?

Wireless headphones have turned shared spaces into millions of isolated sound bubbles. What was once a collective acoustic experience is now curated, controlled, and closed off. AI-driven recommendation systems and always-on audio are accelerating that isolation further. What happens when that seamless flow gets interrupted? And what does it mean to reclaim the public auditory realm?

  • Artist Talk – on the hidden frequencies of Bluetooth, surveillance, and AI-driven isolation
  • Hands-on – build your own Bluetooth jammer, soldering included

With Simon Weckert – digital artist, tech critic, and self-described "modern-day digital wizard". His work has been shown at the V&A Dundee, Ars Electronica Linz, Vitra Design Museum, and Bauhaus Museum Weimar. You don't just leave with an idea. You leave with a tool. And a question you won't stop thinking about.

Waterkant Masterclass – deep dive into one specific topic with an expert!
