Night of Talents

Awarding of the VDE Machine Learning Prizes
What a fantastic evening! Our Machine Learning Prize event was filled with inspiring projects, making it incredibly difficult for the prize committee to choose the winners. After much discussion, the awards went to "Blood Glucose Forecasting" by Anna Dahlhaus, Christopher Kunze, Tim Oldörp and Leo Simak and our TinyML project "Seizure Detection Wristband" by Tim Prause and Socrates Gebremedhin —both remarkable examples of how machine learning can tackle real-world challenges. Huge thanks to 8Tronix for sponsoring the TinyML course last semester.

We were honored to have State Secretary Guido Wendt with us, who delivered an inspiring speech before presenting the awards.

As we wrap up this semester, we are already looking forward to seeing the passion and creativity our students will bring to future projects. A heartfelt thank you to our funders—VDE, the Werner Petersen Stiftung, and the DLC—for giving our students the opportunity to showcase their hard work. And a special thanks to our dedicated prize committee—Dr. Vanessa Just, Julia Imlauer, Stefan Lemke, Dr. Philip Hutchinson, and Jan Monica—who spent their Friday evening carefully evaluating each project.
Congratulations to all participants! It was truly inspiring to see the dedication behind every project, and we can’t wait to do it all again next semester.
This initiative is made possible with support from the European Regional Development Fund (EFRE) and the State of Schleswig-Holstein as part of the Digital Learning Campus.
