Machine Learning Degree
Coding.Warterkant's course selection for you to build a strong foundation in Machine Learning.
Machine Learning is a cornerstone of Artificial Intelligence and a key component of the educational initiative at opencampus.sh. Since 2019, our community has been actively engaged in teaching and providing instructors for a range of ML courses. This successful collaboration led to the launch of a structured, comprehensive Machine Learning Degree in 2021, awarded to participants who complete the program.
Our courses are open to everyone and entirely free of charge, fostering a collaborative learning environment supported by a dedicated community of highly skilled volunteers. Through a focus on project-based learning, we aim to equip participants with practical ML tools they can apply in real-world scenarios, advancing AI literacy and empowering individuals to make meaningful contributions in the field.
The Machine Learning Degree program is built on a unique foundation of collaboration, integrating experts from businesses and startups into the curriculum. This approach, combined with incorporating Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) from top institutions like Stanford University, ensures an education that’s both cutting-edge and industry-relevant.
To complete the Machine Learning Degree, participants are required to finish at least three machine learning courses offered by opencampus.sh, totaling a minimum of 12.5 ECTS credits. Additionally, you must participate in at least one of the following events, applying your skills in an AI-focused project or startup:
- Coding.Waterkant Event
- Prototyping Week by opencampus.sh
Our newest addition, the AI Builder's Arena, serves as a culminating project course where participants tackle real-world challenges in interdisciplinary teams. Unlike other courses, it focuses entirely on application, providing a platform for students to showcase their skills on practical projects with partners like companies or the City of Kiel.
The AI Builder’s Arena offers a unique opportunity for participants to demonstrate their skills on real-world projects and for companies, startups, and other organizations to connect with emerging talent. By collaborating with us, project partners can work on prototype development or establish targeted educational initiatives, creating pathways to identify and recruit highly skilled individuals.
In today’s information-heavy landscape, companies increasingly value practical expertise over a long list of credentials. The AI Builder’s Arena is the ideal setting to showcase what participants can accomplish, emphasizing hands-on experience and problem-solving in AI.
