Thanks to everyone who made Coding.Waterkant 2026 special!

Coding.Waterkant 2026 is over, but the feeling of having so many curious, creative and generous people in one place is still very much there. ✨

For five days, 83 participants came together at the water's edge to build, learn and share ideas. Everywhere you looked, something was happening: conversations around laptops, people helping each other solve problems, teams sketching ideas over coffee or getting completely absorbed in building together.

Watching the self-organized teams turn ideas into working prototypes in just a few days was incredible. From AI-powered fall risk assessment and financial data tools to citizen science, groundwater prediction, self-hosted LLMs and an AI personal styling assistant, the range of projects was inspiring and the level was high! Curious what people worked on? During the next weeks we will communicate some of the projects on LinkedIn and our homepage.

But what we'll remember most isn't a single project. It's the conversations, the openness to share knowledge and the ease with which strangers became teammates. That's what makes this community so special.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed their ideas, time and energy throughout the week. 💙

Build Fridays #3

Whether you just wrapped the Coding.Waterkant Camp or you're tinkering on something completely different, bring it here. There's no stage, there are no presentations, and no one's trying to sell you anything. Just people making things and talking about what's working and what isn't.

Doors are open from 5 PM til late, but you can come anytime you want. At 7 PM we do a quick intro round where everyone takes 30 seconds to share who they are, what they're working on, and what's blocking them.

This time we have something special. Anyone who shows up will get credits for Cursor. You can either burn through them on the day or save them for tougher times.

Daniel Banck and Gerret Halberstadt are hosting build fridays in Kiel, drawing on the format from AI BEAVERS.

Do you want to share your knowledge, grow as an educator, and help shape the next generation of AI and ML talent?

Every semester, opencampus.sh offers a variety of courses in Machine Learning, AI, and Coding. Many of these courses are also part of our Machine Learning Degree, which some of you may already know or have participated in.

We're looking for new instructors who are excited to teach, mentor, and continue learning themselves. You don't have to know everything—curiosity, practical experience, and the motivation to help others are what matter most.
