Once you arrived in Kiel, you can get to the festival site by bus, bike, car and even by boat!

This is the address:

Waterkant Festival
Hall 51, MFG5
Schusterkrug 25
24159 Kiel

The festival area is a bit hidden on a former military area. On Google Maps you can find the exact location.

If you travel to Kiel by train, you will probably come via Hamburg main station and change trains there. From 7 a.m. onwards, there is a regional train from Hamburg to Kiel every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 1:15 hours. Get off at Kiel main station - from there you can use one of the options listed below to get to the festival site. You can find out more about the train connections here.

You can buy a ticket directly from the driver or via nah.sh app (registration required).

You have two options:

Option 1

  • Take bus line 12 or 13 from Kiel (direction 'Schilksee-Olympiazentrum' or direction 'Strande'). You can get on at many different stops, including the main station. At the main station, buses 12 and 13 leave at the terminal A1.
  • Get off the bus at 'Schusterkrug' and walk the rest of the way to the festival site (approx. 15 minutes). You can have a look at the route here.

Option 2

  • Take bus line 11 (direction 'Kiel-Wik Kanal', at the main station from terminal B), get off at the final stop 'Kiel-Wik Kanal' and use the free-of-charge Kiel-Holtenau ferry on Uferstraße. It departs every few minutes. You can find the ferry schedule here.
  • Once you're on the Holtenau side, rent a bike at the "Sprottenflotte" station with the Donkey Republic-App for a cycle route to the festival area.
  • Leave the rented bike at the "Sprottenflotte" station directly on the festival site.
  • Rent a bike at any "Sprottenflotte" station around the city with the Donkey Republic-App for a cycle route to cycle to the festival area.
  • Cycle north on Holtenauer Straße and take the free Kiel-Holtenau ferry from Uferstraße. You can find the ferry schedule here.
  • From there, it's about a 10-minute eastbound tour along the coast to the Waterkant site. Follow the Waterkant signs or here to take a look at the route.

Since parking is extremely limited, we would like to ask you to arrive by one of the above mentioned ways if possible.

If you want or need to arrive by car, there is a parking possibility right next to the festival area. Follow the signs - first towards the festival area, then towards the parking lot. Once there, a crew member will assign you a parking space.

You will find the entrance to the parking space here.
